We love our new little fan. I don't know how we ever lived 10 yrs with our last one. It had only two speeds, and finally made too much noise. This one's silent in comparison, has 24 speeds, and is very smart, for a fan. It's nature mode mimics the varying intensities of natural breeze, and its sleep mode automatically reduces speed each hour! Those lower speeds, like 1-5 are so subtle and delicious, we may even use it all year round for the cuddly comfort of such a light breeze. We named the fan "Popsicle," because it keeps us nicely cool, and it's just plain more fun to say, "Will you turn on Popsicle?" than "the fan." But we're goofy like that. We name lots of stuff. Our garbage disposal, for instance, is Godzilla, and our Beetle car is Bunky. But Popsicle is a welcome addition to the family, and we look forward to using her for many years!This is a great fan for a smaller room. The remote is great to have and has a lot of functions. It's really quiet and seems very well made.I hope this fan lasts awhile. It is decently quiet though not silent by any means. The oscillation is extremely smooth, its best feature.The PDF downloaded online from the manufacturer for this exact model PB-F13 shows controls for a negative ion feature button on the fan itself and on the remote. In the product I received the fan is identical except the negative ion symbol is replaced by a lock symbol on both the fan and remote, and that is described in the printed directions that came with the fan to be a child lock feature.The natural mode merely varies the speed of the fan in a random fashion -- not at all in a natural way -- and unfortunately the sound of the fan varies as well. If the fan were completely silent, this feature might be okay, but the continually random increase or decrease of the sound I find not at all sleep-inducing.The sleep mode does nothing more than lock the maximum fan speed to six or lower. Pointless feature, in my opinion.This fan is quiet enough for sleep, and definitely pushes enough air for me to feel it in my bed while the unit is across the room on a dresser. The beep when changing speeds is not overly loud and does not bother me; it confirms that the remote has made a connection. But if there were another light sleeper in the room, it might be bothersome.This is a great product. Compact but powerful. Great features with multiple speed, oscillation, timer and remote. It even collapses down when not I’d use.Worth the price and way better than those ugly tall towers that are bulky and fall down. this is perfectly splendid! Just received it and I love the fact that it tilts right at the perfect angle, the remote is great as well I don't have to get out of bed!!This fan does not have negative ion mode. Do not be fooled.I really like it. Accept for a little noise when I first got it, I don't even hear it unless I stop and listen for it. The different speeds have been nice. with the fluctuating temperatures here in the mid-west, I've been able to keep it a comfortable speed. The oscillation speeds seems pretty perfect to me as well. I haven't tried the natural feature. I'm not sure I have much use for that and honestly, the remote is going to sit in a drawer.The only real issues I have with it are the fan angle. It naturally angles up a bit and there isn't real great way to point it lower. You can pop it out of the locked in position, but then the buttons are hard to get to because the head of the fan is in the way.Very quiet and great speed. Only drawback is due to it's construction style the fan hood doesn't angle down.
