We use these in all of our commercial vapor mitigation projects (chemical vapor intrusion sites). Very simple to install and they work great. The shrieking loud sound will not be ignored. I can't speak to longevity because our oldest system is 2 years old. We post a laminated sheet giving instructions to building occupants on what to do if the alarm in sounding. This is a much better system than the standard manometer stuck to a pipe, like the ones that most radon contractors use.
