i just love every single recording of schwarzkopf ; her pair with crista ludwig is always fenomenal & the presence of kraus as ferrando in such a young voice (my favorite tenor after pavarotti). steffek gives an amazing notaro in her despina role, the best i've ever heard. i had this recording on tape since it came out in that format in the 80's, i always loved it, but i favor leinsdorf/price/troyanos version best, is my favorite of all cosi recordings, after this bohm set i place davis/caballe/baker/cotrubas/gedda recording, but they are eight's of inches away from the others in their grandeur. if theres any perfect recording of it i find this 3 the best ones ever. i like lyrical & coloratura sopranos the best, but schwarzkopf had always remained one of my favorites even beeing dramatic as her voice is. i love creamy voices & hers is one of the bests.
